The Leonian

The Leonian is the newspaper of Leonia High School.   Leonia is one of the few schools in the area that has a newspaper, never mind a newspaper on the Internet.

    Fort Lee Patch

    Patch is a community-specific news and information platform dedicated to providing comprehensive and trusted local coverage for individual towns and communities. 

    Fort Lee Patch often includes articles of interest to Leonians. The Patch.org Foundation was formed in March, 2010 to improve the quality of life in underserved communities across the globe through access to trusted local news and information.

    Lions Club of Leonia is a service oriented non-political group whose main projects are geared towards helping the visually impaired.   Volunteerism is at the heart of our efforts, and the club has a 70-year track record of reaching out to those in need .  The Lions club is composed of a friendly group of people who enjoy getting together on a regular basis.

    The Community Chest of Leonia provides financial support to local non-profit organizations who provide services to those in need;  the young, elderly, needy, hungry and the emotionally or physically ill.   We support those who directly serve Leonians.

    SummerStage at Leonia

    SummerStage at Leonia is a non-profit organization which cultivates a love of the Arts, and nurtures education in the cultural Arts--theatrical, musical, and visual--in Leonia and in our greater community. Our annual theatrical event takes place the last two weeks of every July, so the heart of our Midsummer's Dream can be yours too.  SummerStage awards its net proceeds to the local schools, to disadvantaged inner city youth via The Hackensack Enrichment and Learning Program, local seniors, and to other local community theater groups expressly to support and nurture their cultural arts programs.

    Community of Friends in Action

    Community of Friends in Action is a local non-profit group working to connect homeowners and small businesses that need work done with workers who need jobs. They refer both skilled and unskilled workers for temporary employment. Many of the workers have OSHA (Occupational Health and Safety) certification.

    New Jersey Transit

    Presbyterian Church in Leonia

    The Presbyterian Church of Leonia was formally established on February 15,1899, when 48 members of the Leonia True Dutch Reformed Church braved a heavy snowstorm to meet with representatives of the former Presbytery of Jersey City.
